Kushida was trained by Takada at the Takada dojo. He went to Mexico to learn the lucha libre style of the game. Tajiri then hand selected Kushida to finish his extensive training. In 2006 Kushida wrestled for HUSTLE and would appear at a couple All Japan shows. About two yrs later in 2008 Kushida began appearing with Osaka Pro. Kushida uses a diving hurricanrana, spinning asai ddt , and Kushida lock to defeat opponents. He also has a wicked standing corkscrew moonsault. SImply put he and Gory shoud tear down the house.

Sorry for the late response. I completely missed this thread. KUSHIDA has had an interesting career. He was semi-trained by Nobuhiko Takada at the famous Takada Dojo school, though I think it may have been just MMA/shootwrestling training. Either way, Takada is one of the originators of shoot style wrestling, and is one of the most important names in the formation of MMA. Not to mention, that Takada is one of the best professional wrestlers of all time(check out his matches against Hashimoto, Mutoh, and Vader). By joining the Takada Dojo, KUSHIDA got to train with some big mma names like Hidehiko Yoshida(a silver medalist in judo), Kazuhiro Nakamura, and the most famous japanese mma fighter of all time, Kazushi Sakuraba. KUSHIDA made HUSTLE his home promotion on 9/7/2006, and has mostly been a lower card wrestler there. He has also made a brief appearance in All Japan against Kaz Hayashi, made a stop in Okinawa Pro wrestling, and got to wrestle in Osaka Pro in 2008. With KUSHIDA's lucha and comedy influences, Osaka Pro was really a natural place for him, since they are well known for both. He had some luck in Osaka Pro, teaming with Tajiri to make it to the semi finals of the Osaka Pro 2008 Tag Festival. He got to main event some shows there as well. KUSHIDA is often seen as one of the highlights of HUSTLE's undercard, and is known as the "Hustle Supernova". His talent has not gone unnoticed though, as he has fought against Tajiri, the American Yokozuna Akebono, Tiger Jeet Singh, Genricho Tenryu, and Toshiaki Kawada. Recently, KUSHIDA competed for the NWA International Junior Heavyweight title against his rival Hajime Ohara(a graduate of Toryumon Mexico). It's a title that has history in 3 different countries, and has been held by greats like Mitsuharu Misawa(as Tiger Mask 2), Atsushi Onita, and The Dynamite Kid. Unfortunately, KUSHIDA drew against Ohara, and in a rematch, lost a loser leaves japan match, causing his expedition. As with most japanese wrestlers, KUSHIDA is coming to another country to gain experience and knowledge about professional wrestling. I think it really shows how much heart he has, and how much he is dedicated to becoming a better professional wrestler. If you'd like to find out more about KUSHIDA, check out his blog(translate it through google translator): blog.livedoor.jp/hustle_kushida/You can also check out his title vs loser leaves town match against Ohara at: www.truveo.com/HUSTLE-Ray-Ohara-vs-KUSHIDA-21909/id/1114363492
