So let me get all of this straight. Christopher Daniels, Paul London, & Larry Sweeney all canceled off the show, for whatever reasons. Tony Kozina is Paul London's "suitable replacement". 2 Cold Scorpio, who hasn't looked good in a wrestling ring since 96 because he's so doped up all the time, is in the tournament. There is no "Night 1, 1st time in IWC contest between 2 wrestlers making their IWC debuts". N-Con later back-peddled by saying "the match was being negotiated and was never promised" or words to that effect. I understand crap happens in indy wrestling, but this is a little ridiculous. Maybe N~Con should've left the tournament in retirement and never brought it back, if this is what's going to happen. I know everyone's gonna get all pissed off about this post, especially N~Con, and crap all over me for what I've stated here, but I'm just being honest. C'mon people. This show went from potentially being one of, if not THE, greatest Super Indys ever, to being, on paper and in my opinion only, one of the worst. Thank God for Davey Richards and Elijah Burke or it would undoubtedly be the worst. And think we're still a week away so, who knows what else is going to happen.

I'm not mad about your post at all...
You certainly have the right to your opinion...although I certainly have the right to retort..
Scorpio has always been great in the ring. I can only guess you haven't been to the IWC shows he has appeared at, because his matches with Samoa Joe and Ricky Reyes were fantastic.
Night 1 was supposed to feature a match between American Dragon and Paul London. This was a deal brokered between a well known booker in wrestling and I. London was impossible to reach, which is why the well known booker decided not to do it. He now has his iron in another fire, so did not want to try to put together another match. In return, two IWC stars will most likely be appearing on the said booker's debut event (I know, I know, you can't say anything on the website becuase God forbid if something changes in the completely unreliable world of pro wrestling).
The changes are sad. I wanted to get rid of Super Indy for two reasons: #1- It's simply too many guys that I usually don't use, and you run the risk of them being unreliable or having issues, and #2- Outside talent, in this economy, isn't as big of a draw as it has been in the past. Daniels was strictly a TNA issue, with them raising his rate to an unreasonable figure because he went back on t.v. Larry has his own set of personal issues that he needs to address before he gets back into the ring. In my opinion, he needs to be as far away from wrestling as possible. London, I am assuming, is another personal issue. He has pretty much disappeared.
You are right Dustinmark, its a little ridiculous. And you are just a fan. Try being the promoter, who has to deal with all of this fun. There is no better feeling in life to have to change everything you worked hard to plan out and put together. Not once, not twice, not three times, but four times. I continuously question why I even bother.
But I will say this: Its a tournament, and tournaments are generally considered the best IWC shows. So maybe reserve judgment until after the event. I know thats what I am going to do.

Hey, as mad as I might be that there's no London, Daniels, or Sweeney....still doesnt mean that there's not going to be a GREAT show. (Even though I've never seen a good Tony Kozina match, thats another story.) And N~Con's right, we only understand it from our view and not even his at the frustration level.
I am in no way a company shill. I'm just a hardcore fan. But I know for a fact that despite all that, N-Con does his best to put on a quality show. It's not a real bait-and-switch where it happens at the last minute and you get to the show and there's no Paul London. That woulda been balls. I know I aint complaining about Burke, Cabana, Ryan, or any of the other guys in the tournament.
If you dont like that idea, there's wrestling on TV every single night of the week that includes screwjobs, reverse battle royals, and Cody Rhodes. Go enjoy that.
Thanks N~Con, even if you do hate us.

The more I think about it, the more frustrating it is to question a show quality...
I mean, you've got Burke and Davey, who I guess in one persons opinion are the only two good guys.
Then you have Scorp, Ryan, and Cabana.....hmmmm...and either Delirious or Sami Callihan...both good
Then you have a plethora of IWC wrestlers that are great--- Hentai, Fab, Idol, Facade, Gory, etc. I mean....this is a good group of guys here.
It seems that sometimes, our own guys aren't given enough credit for how good they have become. Its nice to hear that every weekend, our wrestlers are appearing all over in several states.

2 Cold has been one of the best wrestlers in the world for years, so you are completely wrong there. Maybe you are judging him off his Attitude era run? Maybe you have never seen him step? His stuff in NOAH was unbelievable. He has consistently worked his balls off on the indies over the past year and a half or so as well. The Scorp-Reyes match was MOTY in IWC last year in my opinion. His match vs. Sami in IWA-MS in front of like 4 people was incredible as well.
London has been one of my favorites for years, so I was really, really disappointed when I just saw that news. But I pretty much knew it was inevitable whenever he canceled TNA and flaked out of the past few weeks of bookings. Tony Kozina is a decent replacement. Probably the last person I would figure to come to IWC. I was glad to see him in the pre-show of the Elizabeth ROH show and I'll be glad to see him in IWC. I know for a fact he will be more impressive Friday than he was at that ROH show, so don't base him off that 2 minute tag match with Grizz and Sugar Foot. I'd much rather Kozina come in who I know will go all out than have a TNA X-division guy come in and half-ass it.
Dropping London sucks badly, but c'mon "one of the worst" Super Indy's?!?!
-COLT CABANA RETURNING TO PITTSBURGH -Debuts of THE NECRO BUTCHER, Joey Ryan, and Tony Kozina -Davey and Scorp killing each other with forearms and kicks in the first round -Sami vs. Delirious in a street fight -the local guys trying to steal the show in the 8 man tag (which they usually deliver) -Jimmy and Necro sitting in chairs and punching each other as hard as they can
I really don't see how you could be so negative when you will have all of this.

I am perfectly fine with Super Indy's current card. It is filled with guys that will just work their asses off and give it their all, unlike if a TNA star was booked, he would just give maybe half (I think that was already mentioned). Tony Kozina is awesome, watch his match from PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2007, it was freakin great. I really don't care about the no main event with 2 superstars never in an IWC ring, just look who else we get to see, Colt Cabanna, Joey Ryan, Sami Callihan, Davey Richards, etc. Night 1 was supposed to feature a match between American Dragon and Paul London.

Night 1 was supposed to feature a match between American Dragon and Paul London. This needs to be your signature from now on. This made me bust out laughing. Seriously, it'll be a fun show. I dare anyone to say otherwise. And, as I always say...it could be Brother Runt again.

My wife brought up a real good point about the ridiculousness of wrestling.
Try to relate it to the real world. Like, for example, my job as a funeral director.
Can you imagine if I had signs posted on the door of the funeral home that we apologize but the Minister will be unable to appear today due to travel issues.....you can receive a refund at the door..
Or something ridiculous like that...try to relate it to your job.

Seriously guys its Paul London, the guy was in WWE for like 5 or 6 years and besides the hardcore fans no one barely knew his name, did he even have a character really?, i cant remember 1 promo of his...good or bad. His career is over, no ones going to book him anywhere. I never heard of Kozina but I know hes freinds with Davey so im assuming hes a hard worker. Even though Sweeney, Daniels, and London cancelled i still think it will be the best show of the year. I love Sweeney but hes already won super indy and his in ring skills aren't so great so i personally like that Sweeney got axed from the tournament. I think this will be the best super indy ever. Don't give up on Super Indy N~Con, it seriously is iquivalent to wrestlemania and the royal rumble to me now, i know people cancelling gets frustrating but im sure theres some wrestlers you know who are dependable who you can book for next years super indy, if it happens. I was just thinking the other day, IWC seriously is the best Indy promotion in the country, who else can bring in the guys N~Con can all under 1 roof. I can't think of 1 indy wrestling organization who has booked rick flair, christian, and matt hardy.

Paul London was one of the top guys in ROH before WWE and somewhat successful as a tag champion on Smackdown. He's been the most talked-about guy in the indies since January with PWG. So you are just completely wrong there. and since you've never seen a promo of his... here's the greatest promo ever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSh2s_lmthI

I've actually enjoyed Tony Kozina as of late. So I wouldn't give up on him just quite yet as ,"not a very good replacement". He's a hard worker and the bumps he takes are pretty good.
London has issues. Look on some other boards and you'll see.
And to N~Con, I wouldn't pack it in on Super Indy. I would actually turn it into something where you bring in local guys from the PA/NJ/OH/WV area that you don't usually see in IWC and have a great annual tournament. Kind of like the ECWA Super 8 where you can get some of those guys flying under the surface and give them the shot to put them above and beyond.
EDIT: Why is the filter on words when I type "N o r m" turn into "N~Con"?

And also a question to N~Con, since you are the promoter...is Joey Ryan living on the east coast now or is he still based out of the west coast?
