Although Penn was incredible in Milk and I'm glad he got to say what he got to say up there, I am extremely bitter about this. Rourke was robbed.

Sean Penn just beats you over the head with it. It's like he wants attention more. Just like him yelling about actors who are modeling as well. Sometimes, I think he just likes to yell. "I ORDERED A CHICKEN SALAD, NOT A TUNA SALAD, YOU IGORANT WAITER!"

Regardless, wrestling is more important than my political agenda haha. Rourke should have won.

When Katrina happened and he was mad, was it necessary for him to go down there with a shotgun like a nut?
When Sean Penn won, he had to bring up Mickey. That's how great his performance and comeback is.

That's how great his performance and comeback is. Katrina has absolutely nothing to do with the Oscars or Penn's sgive presents toch at the Oscars. I took Penn bringing up Mickey as a shot at him for all the negative things Rourke said in the media about Penn. Who knows. Mickey rules. His sgive presents toch at the independent film awards was great from Saturday. That is the main reason I wanted to see him win in the first place.

Katrina was just talking about Sean's past where he takes an issue and makes it about himself. The point I was trying to make is when you have a mad man speak out about a cause, you lose focus on the issue and focus on the mad man.
Hopefully, we will see Rourke again at the big show.

Ok, I have seen the Wrestler. I can not believe any of you people on here who enjoyed it. It was one of the most boring films I have ever seen and a huge dissapointment. I watched it with two non-wrestling fans and we all agreed, IT SUCKS. The best part was Necro butcher but all together the movie was horrible. You could see exactly what was coming and there were no twists. He played the part well, but the story and movie sucked. It showed how much pain the wrestlers go through, but it also painted a picture of the business that didnt need painted

Why didn't that picture need painting? It was a morality play, it showed what can happen if you strive to achieve a goal at any cost. Maybe not the best movie but, I don't see why it shouldn't have been made. Why because the wrestling business was made to look bad? Do you protest when churches or special interest groups make propaganda films?

It just brings more attention to the bad things behind the scenes of wrestling, and the whole business doesent need that right now with the way it is being portrayed negatively with the Benoit thing, the deaths and the drug tests. Yes, we the true wrestling fans know about this already but people who have never watched wrestling dont need to be informed of this. No-one does. Plus, with that aside, I think the movie was just boring and the only thing that kept me slightly interested was looking out for the real wrestlers in the film. Basically it was a wrestling legend who cant go like he used to and his body is being worn down. He disregaurds his health, family and other interests for wrestling. He takes drugs and after a hardcore match has a heart attack. Then he just cant quit and has to do his last match when he dies. Thats the whole story and there really was nothing else. It sucked in my opinion

When more eyes see that wrestling is really, really fu.cked, there will be a better chance of a wrestlers' union, insurance coverage/healthcare, longterm benefits, etc... it's wishful thinking, but at least this film put out how necessary it really is and how messed up stars of the past are. Personally, I thought the Wrestler was one of the most emotional pieces of film I've ever seen from start to finish. Rourke played the Ram to a t. If you aren't into artsy fartsy movies, I can see how you didn't like it. If you wanted a happy ending, go watch Fast and the Furious or something. Real life can be depressing.
