For those of you who may not know me, I had a strong interest in becoming a professional wrestler. It had always been a dream of mine, and I was set on trying to break into a wrestling school and go after it. However, I spent some time with N~Con and Larry Sweeney, and the both of them gave me some advice. "Get an education and a real job, take care of your family." At the time, my general reaction was to be sort of headstrong and rebellious, and try to justify my actions, but the more I thought about what they said afterward, the more it really began to make sense. I'm 23, I have a wife and children, and I really need to make sure they're taken care of.
never been able to afford college or put myself in a position where I could give my kids the life I want to. It's been clawing away just to survive at some points. Finally, things started to make sense to me.
I decided to start speaking with the military. I thoroughly mapped out what I could do with each branch and sought out what each could offer me. After taking the ASVAB and getting a very high score (not bad for a guy who never made it past tenth grade), I was told that I could do any job that I wanted, essentially. When the Army plugged my score and started searching for open jobs, I found a priority one job in the field of military intelligence. Analyzing and strategizing, essentially, and top level security clearance that'll give me training that I'd be able to use to get a job with the FBI and CIA if I wanted to take that route. Another nice part of it is the college money with the position. In addition to the GI bill, there's ACF included as well, which will add up to around 81,000$ for school for me and my family. The signing bonus of 35,000$ was a nice addition to all of that as well.
So, I know a lot of people on here don't really know me, but I thought I'd share this with you nonetheless. I've spent a lot of time with you fine folks out the Pittsburgh way, and had a lot of fun with the IWC wrestlers and fans. I'll be sad that I'll be missing the tournament, especially Dark's return I hope I'll get enough time for holiday leave that I'll be able to make the Call to Arms show this December.
I wanted to thank N~Con and Larry Sweeney for knocking some sense into me, even though I didn't appreciate it at the time. I'm proud to be serving my country and going into a job that'll make sure my kids are set for the rest of their lives, help me go to college, and give me a chance for an awesome job that I couldn't have done otherwise. I go off to basic on the 14th, so I thought I'd make a post on here before it happened. Naturally, I won't be around here for awhile, so I wish everyone the best.
Thanks everyone,
-Alex
