I thought the ending ruined the movie. The ending is probably why some critics don't like it. I would recommend Gran Torino above all other movies.

Mickey Rourke wins the Golden Globe! That is... Wow. I never thought I'd see the day where anything to do with wrestling would win on the national stage like that.

Micky Rourke just won the Royal Rumble. He is going to the Main Event of WrestleMania to take that golden Oscar. I can't wait to see this film.

i seen the wrestler today, i dont know how this movie got any awards, i couldnt imagen anyone enjoying this movie who isnt a intense wrestling fan, like not just someone who watches wwe but you have to be a fan that goes to indies and everything. It was really depressing. Mickys performance did not impress me, i think any established actor could play a washed up legend like he did. Im not sayin he did bad but i just didnt think it was a award winning performance, to me any established actor could have played the same part. Micky did fit the role good though. The best part is seein Necro Butcher talk all polite and proper to Ram backstage. I really thought he talked like a hick like that in real life. Another highlight was seein that stripper get naked, ive seen that actress in others movies but never thought shed do a nude seen. Im kinda sounding like a pervert haha but there was so little to like that was seriously a highlight to me. Seeing the cat, nigel, rtruth, antonio from heart throbs, claudio, bobby dempsy, and sabain was cool. I didnt see Sweeney maybe i missed him. I liked that they showed the entire catvsram match besides the final jump off the top rope. The ending was stupid. Pretty much any seen that didnt involve wrestling was pretty boring to me. Wrestling is my life and id still only give this film a 6 out of 10. Which to me says its still an ok movie but far from a classic. a 1 time see in my opinion.

even though the wrestler is getting alot of recognition i cant see how this would help the wrestling business, it might bring some more fans to the indy scene but it also probally made alot of wrestlers rethink their career, to me the whole point of the movie is how bad it sucks to be a wrestler and how they destroy their bodys for a paycheck but at the end of the day their life is mierable and pointless, i expected it to be better.

I've seen it with several people who range from wrestling fans to non-fans to haters to completely oblivious, and the one thing they had in common was saying that "Mickey Rourke stole the show." All of them enjoyed it too. You don't have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this movie, same as you don't have to be a football fan to enjoy "Remember the Titans" or a baseball fan to enjoy "Major League". I am by no means arguing that the movie was great, but I thought Rourke did phenomenal. He wasn't Rourke playing the Ram, he WAS the Ram. You're entitled to your opinion but it seems to me you missed the point.

I beleived micky was the ram but i just dont think it was a academy award winning performance. I dont think the character was challenging enough to play to be a academy award winning performance. the whole movie hes just limpen around all depressed talken or cryen about somethan. Your entitled to your opinion tho, im just really let down. I didnt enjoy the movie too much.

The Wrestler is washing away the sins of Ready to Rumble and No Holds Barred.

i know ready to rumble didnt get good ratings from critics when it was out but I thought ready to rumble was good personally, its a comedy movie with wrestling, ive seen it recently and although i didnt get as many laughs as i did when i was 13 or so seeing it in theatres its still a good movie to me, if we had a verbal debate at a iwc show i think i could convince a few people atleast that ready to rumble isnt as bad as people say. its harder to do on the message board tho. The only bad thing that came out of ready to rumble to me alteast is that the main character actor(i forget his name) ended up winning the wcw title, which i do admit was a disgrace to the belt. but id put the blame on wcw writers for that not ready to rumble.
