As some of you may know (or maybe not), I've been unemployed for going on 6 months now. It's a pain in the ass. Really. I wish IWC website stuff could pay the bills, but it doesn't. I'm in desperate need of a job now, and if anybody has any leads or ideas, preferrably within a 5-10 mile radius of the Glassport/McKeesport PA area (and on a bus line would be helpful), please send it my way.
Much obliged.

Do you have any sort of education or marketable skills? That would be a good start.

What kind of pay are you looking for (realistically)?

booswayn: I'm not sure if there's one near me or not.
Shadow: No edumacation. If I did, that'd be alot easier. Marketable skills? I make a darn good website, and type pretty fast. I applied for a few data entry jobs on monster.com today.
Psydrogen: Anything more than minimum wage. My last few jobs were $6/$6.25/$6.50 an hour.

What kind of work have you done before?

Did you graduate from high school? What kind of work have you done before? Yeah, almost 4 years ago. I was a dishwasher at Dennys and a clerk at a convenience store. Not much of a resume, I know.

My first suggestion would be, obviously, to go get an education.

Update: I have an interview Friday to work at a t-mobile kiosk at the mall. Yeah, I'd be one of those guys who annoy you as you walk by.

So, do you have a job now?
I mean no offense when I say this. I'm always amazed when people say they can't find a job. Running the broiler at a Burger King is a job. Last night someone was begging people for money at the local mall.
The first things I noticed about him were that he wore nice looking Timberland boots, a gorgeous Browns Jacket, Had an expensive looking watch and didn't appear to have any physical problems. He appeared to be a healthy, well groomed man in his late twenties.
Before he could ask me for anything, I asked him how he came across such nice things. He said they were gifts. He then wanted to know If I had money so he could stay at a motel. (The only Motel in the area is a crack motel.) I asked him there's no one you call for a ride home or place to stay. (off course there wasn't) He came from Prama, Ohio. Once The mall closed he would have to freeze outside(not true) I told him that on the other side of the lot there was a K-mart open 24/7. If he didn't cause trouble he could stay there till the bus run starts at 6:18am. Somehow $5 from me would solve all his problems. Yet he wouldn't tell me how.
I saw an opportunity to vent, so I did.

"Man, I can't believe there's not a single job in this entire city!" "Yeah, unless you want to work 40 hours a week!"

The guy was a Browns fan (well, I am too), doesn't that explain it all?

As a Browns fan, it's not money I'm begging for. It's an answer to why I keep doing this to myself...
My parents always talk about "The Drive" and "The Fumble" like they're references to the coming of Satan or something, and yeah I know it sucked ass to be that close to the Super Bowl and lose in the last seconds two years in a row. But at least they remember being in the damn playoffs. I'm 21, and I remember seeing ONE playoff game a few years ago. Most of my memories of the Browns aren't of expecting them to win, but by being happy that they didn't get killed... (expectation obviously not met this past Sunday)
If it wasn't for my college team decimating, it probably would be even more intolerable, but thankfully the Buckeyes being awesome makes Sundays being atrocious just a little easier.
