I'm still trying very hard to understand why anyone thinks that Jack Evans would really be worth it. I know, I know, you want to see him do 30 flips and a 630 mooonsault and all that. But can anyone cite an actual match where he, you know, WRESTLES? Seriously, one match is all I need. Convince me that he can do more than come in for a few high flying spots and that's it. He can't even be bothered to buy real wrestling gear. Still waiting for someone to take me up on this one.

Honestly I don't mind guys who just do a bunch of high spots provided two things. #1 they work with someone who can properly be on the other end of one and do a few in return and #2 they aren't overused. I would think that a couple of trips for someone who is flashy wouldn't be a bad thing.
Keep in mind that easily over half of the crowd at most events is made up of casual fans, who would much rather see 5-10 minutes of high spots than 30 minutes of wrestling. I'm not saying that's necessarily right or wrong (personally I like something down the middle), but it's the truth.

I pretty much agree with you, meadows. Still I think that long-term having actual WRESTLERS in a WRESTLING ring is probably the best idea.
Regarding what you said about casual fans liking highspots, sure. Interesting that the "holy sh!t" chant began in ECW and was reserved for when something truly spectacular happened. Interesting still that the chant is still carried on at IWC shows, but is used pretty much anytime anyone jumps to the floor, no matter how simple the move is.
Simple plancha to the floor = "holy sh!t" chants makes me laugh EVERY TIME it happens at IWC shows.

I agree with you that the chant gets ridiculous when it's nothing more than a jump into standing bodies. I mean if it's Homicide launching into the third row, that's one thing. That being said, you wanted a reason to bring in someone who only does high spots, and I gave it to you

yeah the "Holy Sh!t" chant is stupid at the IWC shows. There isn't anything that spectacular at the usual IWC show yet Hentai gets one for a flip over the top rope.

When you chant "holy sh!t" at something simple, it makes the TRUE "holy sh!t" moments totally meaningless. Someone needs to bring this info to those people who can't let go of ECW.

Sure, or you could just chant nothing and enjoy the match. Works too.

To be honest, I LOVE chants at shows. Hell, 6/5, me and Insider Matt started most of 'em from the gimmick tables. I always mark out when the crowd chants "IWC". That proves that the promoter, the boys, SOMEBODY did something right, and it please enough fans that they wanted to put the product over with the chant.
I once saw a Holy Sh!t chant for a superplex, so I ain't gonna say nuthin'.
Samoa Joe was the one guy I totally wanted to see in IWC, and now he's coming, so huzzah.
